What we do
Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Dumfries and Galloway is one of 21 regional DYW groups across Scotland.
Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) is the Scottish Government's national strategy for strengthening links between businesses and education, better preparing children and young people for the world of work and reducing youth unemployment.
DYW D&G was established in 2016 to work with young people, local and national businesses and education providers to ensure that education and training meet the needs of industry and that young people leaving school and college are better prepared for the world of work.
To do this, DYW D&G:
Bridges the gap between industry and education
Builds links between education and industry
Creates bonds between employers and young people
By creating stronger links between business and education, we can help to provide more opportunities for young people to live and work in the Dumfries and Galloway region.
